How to Get a Single QR Code for All Your Events

With Fotify's Dynamic Links feature, you can create a permanent link and QR code that you print once and reuse across all your events. Instead of generating a new QR code for every event, you get one fixed URL that you can dynamically redirect to any of your events at any time.

This is perfect if you're a wedding planner, event organizer, or venue owner who wants to print QR codes on materials like signs, business cards, or invitations and then simply update the destination as needed.

How It Works

The Tools page in your dashboard gives you two permanent links:

  • Photo Upload Link - A permanent link that redirects guests to upload photos to your currently selected event.
  • Photo Album Link - A permanent link that redirects guests to view the photo album of your currently selected event. The public album must be enabled in your event settings for this link to work.

Each link has a customizable URL slug (e.g., dashboard.fotify.app/go/my-wedding) that stays the same forever. You simply change which event the link points to whenever you need.

Step 1: Go to the Tools Page

Navigate to the Tools page from the sidebar in your Fotify dashboard. You'll see two link cards: one for photo uploads and one for the photo album.

Step 2: Set Your Custom URL Slug

Click Edit on the link card you want to configure. Enter a custom URL slug — this is the short, memorable part of your permanent link.

  • Slugs must be between 3 and 30 characters
  • Only lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes are allowed
  • The slug must be unique (the system will tell you if it's already taken)

For example, if you enter my-events, your permanent link will be dashboard.fotify.app/go/my-events.

Step 3: Select a Target Event

From the same edit panel, use the Select Target Event dropdown to choose which event this link should currently redirect to. You'll see all your events listed with their status (live, upcoming, or finished).

Click Save Changes when you're done.

Step 4: Print or Share Your QR Code

Once configured, copy your permanent link and generate a QR code from it using any QR code generator (or use our free QR Code Generator). Print this QR code on your event materials — invitations, signs, table cards, banners, or anything else.

This QR code will never change. When guests scan it, they'll be automatically redirected to whatever event you've selected.

Switching to a Different Event

When you want to point your QR code to a different event:

  1. Go to the Tools page in your dashboard
  2. Click Edit on the link card
  3. Select the new target event from the dropdown
  4. Click Save Changes

That's it — all existing QR codes and printed materials will now redirect to the new event. No reprinting needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I have one QR code that works for all my events? A: Yes. Use the Dynamic Links feature on the Tools page to create a permanent link with a custom URL. You can change which event it points to at any time without reprinting your QR code.

Q: Do I get separate links for photo uploads and the album? A: Yes. You get two permanent links — one for guests to upload photos and one for guests to view the album. Each can be pointed to different events independently.

Q: What happens if I don't assign an event to my link? A: If no event is selected, guests who visit the link will see an error page. Make sure to assign a target event before sharing your link.

Q: Can I change my custom URL slug after setting it? A: Yes, you can change your slug at any time from the Tools page. However, if you've already printed QR codes or shared the old URL, those will stop working once you change the slug.

Q: Does the album link work if my album is private? A: The photo album link requires the public album to be enabled in your event settings. If the public album is disabled, guests will not be able to view the album through this link.

Q: Is there a limit to how many times I can switch events? A: No, you can switch the target event as many times as you want. The change takes effect immediately.
