How to Find the RSVP Link for a Guest
Each guest on your list has a unique RSVP link that allows them to respond to your invitation. This link is personalized - when clicked, the guest's name is pre-filled and their response is automatically tracked.
This guide shows you how to find and share these links with your guests.
Tip: Need a simpler approach? If you don't want to add guests manually, you can enable the Registration Form feature to generate a single public link where guests can self-register.
Step 1: Go to Your Guest List
- Go to your event dashboard at dashboard.fotify.app
- Select your event and click "RSVP" in the sidebar
- Click the "Guests" tab
You'll see your complete guest list with all added guests.
Step 2: Copy the Guest's RSVP Link
For each guest, you can copy their personalized invitation message (which includes their unique RSVP link):
- Find the guest in your list
- Click the Copy icon (clipboard) in the Actions column
- The personalized message is now copied to your clipboard
The copied message includes:
- The guest's name (using your message template)
- Their unique RSVP link
- Any other text from your message template
Ways to Share the RSVP Link
Once you've copied the message, you can share it through various channels:
WhatsApp (Recommended)
Click the WhatsApp icon next to any guest with a phone number:
- WhatsApp Web opens automatically
- The message with their RSVP link is pre-filled
- Just click send
Click the Email icon next to any guest with an email address:
- Your email client opens with a pre-filled message
- The RSVP link is included
- Add a subject line and send
Any Messaging App
After clicking the Copy button:
- Open your preferred messaging app (SMS, Telegram, Messenger, etc.)
- Paste the message
- Send to the guest
Customizing the Message
The message that gets copied is based on your Message Template. To customize it:
- Go to the Invitation tab in your RSVP section
- Find the Message Template section
- Edit your message using template keys
Template Keys
| Key | What It Shows |
|---|---|
{{FIRSTNAME}} | Guest's first name |
{{LASTNAME}} | Guest's last name |
{{FULLNAME}} | Guest's full name |
{{RSVP_LINK}} | The guest's unique RSVP link |
Important: Always include {{RSVP_LINK}} in your message template - without it, guests won't have a way to respond!
Example Message
Hi {{FIRSTNAME}}, you're invited to our wedding!
Please let us know if you can make it: {{RSVP_LINK}}
We hope to see you there!
When copied for a guest named "Maria", this becomes:
Hi Maria, you're invited to our wedding!
Please let us know if you can make it: https://fotify.app/rsvp/abc123
We hope to see you there!
Tips for Sharing RSVP Links
- Track who received invitations - Guests messaged via WhatsApp show a green background in your list
- Follow up on non-responders - Filter by "Not Answered" to see who needs a reminder
- Send in batches - Work through your list systematically to ensure everyone gets their link
- Test your link first - Add yourself as a guest and test the experience before sending to others
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is each guest's RSVP link different? A: Yes, every guest has a unique link that identifies them. This is how Fotify tracks who has responded.
Q: What if a guest loses their link? A: Simply copy and resend their invitation using the Copy button. Their unique link remains the same.
Q: Can I share one link with multiple guests? A: No, each link is tied to a specific guest. For each person to respond individually, they need their own link. Add each guest to your list and send them their personalized link.
Q: What happens if someone uses another guest's link? A: The response will be recorded under the original guest's name. To avoid confusion, always send guests their own personalized link.
Q: Can I see the actual URL of a guest's link? A: The link is included in the copied message. You can paste it anywhere to see the full URL.
Q: Do I need to add guests before I can share links? A: For personalized links, yes - you must first add guests to your list. However, you can also enable the Registration Form to allow guests to self-register without being pre-added.
Q: Is there a way to have just one link for everyone? A: Yes! Enable the Registration Form feature in the Event Details tab. This generates a single public link that anyone can use to register for your event.
