How to Delete an Event
When you no longer need an event, you can permanently delete it from your Fotify dashboard. Deleting an event removes all associated photos, videos, RSVPs, and other data. The event record is archived and will no longer appear in your events list.
Before You Delete
Before deleting an event, keep the following in mind:
- This action cannot be undone. All photos, videos, guest responses, and event data will be permanently removed.
- Download your photos first. If you want to keep your event photos, download them before deleting the event.
- Active events cannot be deleted. If your event is currently Live or Paused, you must stop it first.
Step 1: Go to Your Events Page
Navigate to the Events page from the sidebar in your dashboard. You'll see all your events listed with their current status.
Step 2: Select the Event
Click on the event card you want to delete. The event details panel will expand showing the event controls.
Step 3: Click Delete Event
At the bottom of the event controls, click the "Delete Event" button (shown in red). This button is only available for events with Upcoming or Finished status.
Note: Only the event owner can delete an event. Collaborators and moderators do not have permission to delete events.
Step 4: Confirm Deletion
A confirmation dialog will appear warning you about the permanent nature of this action. Review the message carefully, then confirm to proceed.
Once confirmed, Fotify will:
- Permanently delete all photos and videos from storage
- Remove all guest RSVPs and invitation data
- Delete song requests, add-ons, and other event data
- Archive the event record (it will no longer appear in your events list)

Q: Can I recover a deleted event? A: No. Once an event is deleted, all photos, videos, and associated data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Always download your photos before deleting.
