How to Set Up Event Branding

The Branding Center lets you customize your event's visual identity with your logo, custom photo frames, company information, photo watermarks, social media handles, and custom share text. Your branding appears across event materials including the live carousel, shared albums, upload pages, and more.

Note: The Branding Center is available exclusively with the Premium Event plan.

Accessing the Branding Center

  1. From your event dashboard, click "Event" in the sidebar
  2. Click "Branding"
  3. The Branding Center will open with all customization options

Event Logo

Upload your event or company logo to personalize your brand. Your logo will appear across your event materials, including the live photo carousel when branding overlay is enabled.

Uploading a Logo

  1. Click "Upload Logo"
  2. Select your logo file from your device
  3. Your logo will be saved automatically

Logo Requirements

  • Recommended formats: PNG or SVG
  • Maximum file size: 5MB
  • Tip: Use a logo with a transparent background for best results

Removing a Logo

Click "Remove Logo" next to your uploaded logo to delete it.

Custom Frame

Create a branded photo experience by uploading a custom frame overlay that appears over photos in the live carousel. This is perfect for corporate events, branded weddings, or any occasion where you want a consistent visual theme.

Uploading a Frame

  1. Click "Upload Frame"
  2. Select your frame file from your device
  3. Your frame will be saved automatically

Frame Requirements

  • Recommended format: PNG with transparency
  • Recommended resolution: 1920x1080 pixels
  • Maximum file size: 10MB

Designing Your Frame

  • Use a PNG file with a transparent center where photos will appear
  • The frame should have decorative borders, corners, or overlays around the edges
  • Include your logo or event name in the frame design for consistent branding
  • Test your frame in the live carousel to ensure photos display correctly

Adjusting Frame Display

Once uploaded, you can fine-tune how your frame displays in the live carousel:

  1. Open the Live Photos carousel
  2. Click the Frame Settings icon (grid icon) in the top controls
  3. Adjust Photo/Video Size, Frame Size, and Frame Position (behind or in front of photos)

Removing a Frame

Click "Remove Frame" next to your uploaded frame to delete it.

Brand Information

Add details about your brand to make your event more professional and memorable.

Brand Name

Enter your company name, event name, or brand name. This may appear in various event materials.

Tagline

Add a short tagline or slogan that represents your event or brand.

Brand Description

Provide a brief description of your brand or event. This helps set the tone and context for your event.

Website URL

Add your website address to direct guests to your online presence.

Photo Watermark

Protect your event photos and reinforce your brand by adding a watermark. Fotify supports both logo watermarks and text watermarks, giving you full control over how your mark appears on photos.

Watermarks are shown as an overlay when guests browse the album and are applied when photos are downloaded or shared. This helps protect your content while keeping the viewing experience clean.

For a complete guide on configuring watermark position, opacity, size, and more, see How to Set Up Photo Watermarks.

Custom Share Text

Customize the message that is pre-filled when guests share photos from your event. When a guest taps the share button on a photo, the share text you define will be included automatically in the message across platforms like WhatsApp, X (Twitter), and email.

Setting Custom Share Text

  1. In the Branding Center, scroll to the Share Text section
  2. Enter your custom message
  3. Save your changes

Tips for Effective Share Text

  • Include your event hashtag so shared photos are easy to find (e.g., #SmithWedding2026)
  • Add your social media handles so guests can tag you (e.g., @yourhandle)
  • Keep it short and memorable โ€” the message should complement the photo, not overshadow it
  • Include event-specific messaging that encourages engagement (e.g., "Check out more photos from our event!")

Social Media Handles

Add your social media profiles to encourage guests to follow and tag your brand or event across platforms. You can add handles for:

  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • Facebook
  • X (Twitter)
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn

Where Social Media Handles Appear

Your handles are displayed as clickable icons in the footer of several public-facing pages:

  • Upload page โ€” where guests upload their photos
  • Public album โ€” the shared photo gallery
  • Invitation page โ€” your digital event invitation
  • Registration page โ€” where guests RSVP or register

Adding Social Media Handles

  1. In the Branding Center, scroll to the Social Media section
  2. Enter your handle or profile URL for each platform
  3. Save your changes

This is a great way to grow your social presence during and after the event, and encourages guests to tag you in their own posts.

Custom Domain

Connect your own domain to your event so guests access your photos, invitations, and more through a branded URL like photos.yourdomain.com instead of the default Fotify link. For a full guide, see How to Set Up a Custom Domain for Your Event.

Quick Setup

  1. In the Branding Center, scroll to the Custom Domain section
  2. Enter your domain (e.g., photos.yourdomain.com)
  3. Select a Homepage โ€” the page guests see when they visit your domain root
  4. Click Connect Domain
  5. Add the CNAME record shown in your domain's DNS settings
  6. Click Verify DNS once configured

How Long Does It Last?

Custom domains remain active for up to 12 months or until your gallery access expires, whichever comes first.

Tips for Effective Event Branding

  • Consistency is key: Use the same logo and colors across all your event materials (invitations, signage, carousel)
  • High-quality images: Upload high-resolution logos and frames for the best appearance on large displays
  • Test before the event: Preview your branding in the live carousel to ensure everything looks right
  • Consider contrast: Make sure your logo is visible against the carousel background
  • Keep it simple: Avoid overly complex frames that distract from the photos

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I add my company logo to event photos? A: Go to Event โ†’ Branding and upload your logo in the Event Logo section. Then enable "Branding Overlay" in the live carousel settings to display your logo periodically during the slideshow.

Q: How do I create a custom photo frame for my event? A: Upload a PNG image with transparency in the Custom Frame section of the Branding Center. Design your frame with a transparent center where photos will appear, and decorative elements around the edges.

Q: What size should my custom frame be? A: The recommended resolution is 1920x1080 pixels (Full HD, 16:9 aspect ratio). Use PNG format with transparency for best results. Maximum file size is 10MB.

Q: Where does my event branding appear? A: Your branding can appear in the live photo carousel (when branding overlay is enabled), on custom frames around photos, as watermarks on downloaded/shared photos, and on public pages where your social media handles are displayed.

Q: Can I use branding for a wedding? A: Absolutely! Many couples create custom frames with their names and wedding date, or use a wedding logo/monogram. You can also set a custom share text with your wedding hashtag and add watermarks with your names or monogram.

Q: What file format works best for logos? A: PNG or SVG formats are recommended. PNG works well for most logos, while SVG provides unlimited scalability. Use files with transparent backgrounds for the cleanest look.

Q: Can I change my branding after the event starts? A: Yes, you can update your branding at any time. Changes will appear in the live carousel and other materials immediately.

Q: How do I remove branding from my event? A: Click "Remove Logo" or "Remove Frame" in the Branding Center to delete uploaded assets. In the live carousel settings, disable "Branding Overlay" to stop showing branding during the slideshow.

Q: Is the Branding Center available on all plans? A: The Branding Center is available exclusively with the Premium Event plan. Free and Photo Gallery plans do not include branding customization.

Q: Can I preview my branding before the event? A: Yes! After uploading your logo and frame, open the Live Photos carousel to see how your branding looks. Adjust frame settings as needed using the Frame Adjustments panel.

Q: How do I design a custom frame if I'm not a designer? A: You can use free design tools like Canva to create a simple frame. Start with a 1920x1080 canvas, add decorative borders or corners, and export as PNG with transparency. Many templates are available online.

Q: Why isn't my custom frame showing in the carousel? A: Make sure "Custom Frame Overlay" is enabled in the carousel settings (gear icon). Also verify your frame was uploaded successfully in the Branding Center.

Q: Can I have different branding for different events? A: Yes, each event has its own Branding Center. You can customize the logo, frame, watermark, share text, social handles, and information separately for each event you create.

Q: Can I use my own domain for my event? A: Yes! Premium events can connect a custom domain (e.g., photos.yourdomain.com). Guests can access the photo album, upload page, invitation, and all other public pages through your branded URL. See our Custom Domain guide for setup instructions.

Q: How long does a custom domain stay active? A: Custom domains remain active for up to 12 months from the date they were added, or until your gallery access expires โ€” whichever comes first.

Q: Does the watermark affect the original photo quality? A: No. The original photo is stored without any watermark. The watermark is applied as an overlay when viewing in the album, and baked into the image only when it is downloaded or shared. This means your originals remain untouched.

Q: Can I customize what guests see when they share a photo? A: Yes. In the Branding Center, set your Custom Share Text to control the pre-filled message that appears when guests share via WhatsApp, X, or email. This is a great place to include your event hashtag or social handles.

Q: Where do my social media handles appear? A: Your social media handles are displayed as clickable icons in the footer of the upload page, public album, invitation page, and registration page. Guests can tap them to visit your profiles directly.

Q: Can I add social media handles without setting up other branding? A: Yes. Each section in the Branding Center is independent. You can add social media handles without uploading a logo, frame, or watermark. Just scroll to the Social Media section, enter your handles, and save.
