How to Use Social Media Mode

Social Media Mode gives your event its own private social network: guests create a profile with their name and photo, post to a live feed, share disappearing stories, and like and comment on each other's posts — all from one link, with no app or account required.

It has its own dedicated link, separate from your public album and stories links, and it opens once your event has started.

Step 1: Enable the Social Feed

1. Go to Photos in your dashboard
2. Click "Social Feed" in the Actions section
3. Toggle on "Public Access"
4. Copy the social feed link and share it with your guests

The link is independent from your album link: disabling one never affects the other, and you can generate a fresh social link at any time by toggling sharing off and on.

Step 2: What Guests Do

When guests open the link (after your event has started), they're invited to set up a profile — a display name and an optional profile picture. They can also skip it and just browse; a profile is only required to post.

With a profile, guests can:

• Post photos (and short video clips, on plans with video uploads) with captions to the feed
• Share stories that disappear after the duration you set
• Like and comment on any post, and see who liked what
• Share a post with a direct link that opens straight to it
• Manage "My posts" under their profile, including deleting their own uploads

New posts appear in everyone's feed in real time.

Step 3: Configure the Feed

In the same Social Feed dialog you'll find the settings:

• Feed content: show all event photos in the feed, or only posts made in the social feed
• Story duration: how long stories stay visible, from 15 minutes to 24 hours
• Guest deletion: allow or prevent guests removing their own posts and stories

Stories are stored in a private "Social Stories" album — they never appear in your public album or live carousel, and you keep every file in your dashboard after they expire from the feed.

Step 4: Pin a Post (Optional)

You can publish your own post that stays pinned to the top of every guest's feed — perfect for a welcome message or practical announcements.

1. Open the Social Feed dialog
2. Under Pinned post, write a message and optionally add a photo
3. Click "Publish & pin"

Your post is published as the event (no profile needed), skips moderation, and appears immediately. Click Unpin to release the top slot — the post itself stays in the feed.

Moderation

Social posts and stories follow your event's existing moderation settings. If manual approval or AI moderation is enabled, new posts wait for review before other guests can see them — the author sees their post marked as pending under "My posts". See approving and rejecting photos for the review workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do guests need to install an app or create an account? A: No. Everything runs in the browser. The profile is a display name and optional photo stored for that device — no password or sign-up.

Q: Can guests post videos? A: Yes, on plans that include video uploads: clips up to 30 seconds (within your plan's video duration limit) can be posted to the feed and stories. Longer videos still go through the regular upload page.

Q: Are expired stories deleted? A: No. They stop being shown to guests once the duration passes, but the files remain in the private Social Stories album in your dashboard.

Q: Why do guests see "the feed opens when the event starts"? A: Social Media Mode is only active once your event has started. Before that, the link shows a waiting screen with your event name and start date.

Q: Can guests keep posting after the event ends? A: No — like the upload page, posting closes when your event ends (or while it's paused). The feed stays open to browse, and guests can still delete their own posts if you allow it.

Q: Is this the same as the Stories View link? A: No. Stories View is a swipeable viewer for your album photos. Social Media Mode is a full feed where guests post directly, with profiles, likes, comments, and disappearing stories — and it uses its own separate link.
