Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Muse to Your Fotify Account

You can connect an AI assistant — like Claude, ChatGPT, Google Gemini or Meta's Muse — directly to your Fotify account. Once connected, you can plan your event by simply chatting with your assistant: "Set up my wedding for September 12th, add my guest list from this spreadsheet, build the day's schedule, seat everyone at tables of ten, and design a romantic invitation in blush tones." The assistant does the clicking; you stay in control of everything that matters.

The connection uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard supported by Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Muse and a growing number of AI tools. You authorize the connection once, choose exactly what it's allowed to do, and can disconnect it at any moment.

What a Connected Assistant Can Do

Depending on the permissions you approve, your assistant can:

• Create and manage events — name, date, time and venue timezone, location, schedule and settings
• Set up the digital invitation — enable RSVP, set the deadline, pause the invitation while details are still changing (guests can still open it, but can't reply until you resume), build the multi-day itinerary and the RSVP form questions (dietary needs, song requests, birth dates...), including side-by-side field layouts, per-guest questions answered once per attending guest (e.g. one meal choice per guest), and conditional questions that only appear for certain answers (e.g. only for guests 18 or younger)
• Choose what the RSVP form asks for — whether each companion is named individually or the form only collects the main guest's details plus a party-size count, and whether guests get the free-text comments box for dietary notes and special requests
• Tell your story — turn the invitation's "Our Story" timeline on or off, set its title and subtitle, and add, rewrite, reorder or remove milestones (photos on existing milestones are kept when editing; uploading new milestone photos stays in the dashboard)
• Shape the invitation page — reorder its sections and tune each one: the hero (cover) text layout, the countdown, the add-to-calendar entry, the envelope opening animation (including the guest's name on the envelope, the stamp, postmark and paper), the invitation's own photo gallery section, and up to five free-form custom sections with your own content
• Paint a postcard — pick a few art directions and one or two photos of the hosts, and the assistant generates AI postcards for the event; the one you choose slides out of the envelope and becomes the preview guests see when the link is shared, and can also top your invitation emails once you switch that on. Ask for a preview link first to watch the envelope open with your card before guests see it
• Fill in the event details — accommodation options with promo codes, FAQs, the dress code (including color palettes) and transportation/parking info
• Put the venue on the map — search for the venue by name, pin it on the invitation map and write the directions shown under it
• Speak your guests' language — set the invitation's date and time format, or pin the whole invitation to one language
• Customize the RSVP wording — the deadline line, the accept and decline button labels and the attendance question
• Rewrite the template's own copy — the small labels a template prints from its built-in wording (section eyebrows, the reply card's title, the countdown and calendar button labels, the copy every template shares) — the same texts you can double-click to edit in the live preview. The assistant reads which labels your template exposes and their length limits, rewrites the ones you name and can put any of them back to the original wording
• Run a save-the-date page — turn it on, set its message and get the share link before the full invitation is ready
• Manage door check-in — see whether QR check-in at the entrance is on and a staff password exists, switch check-in on or off, and ask on event day how many parties and guests have arrived and who checked in most recently (the staff password itself stays in the dashboard's Check-in tab); also hide guests' table assignments while the seating chart is still being rearranged, and switch the public "find my seat" page on or off
• Decide who hears about responses — turn your own RSVP notification emails on or off and register an additional recipient (partner, planner...) copied on every confirmation
• Manage your guest list — add guests one by one or import up to 100 at once (paste a spreadsheet straight into the chat, answers included if you already collected them), update RSVP statuses, and export the full list as a CSV file. This works even before any RSVP is set up — the guest list doesn't require one. On a plan with an invitation cap, the assistant can also tell you how many guests tried to register after your list filled up
• Design your invitation — iterate on drafts with the same engine as the AI Design Studio: templates, colors, sections, AI-generated artwork, photos imported from a link, and your own photos — the assistant sends you an upload link to add them from your phone or computer. Colour tweaks keep the fonts and details you already chose, and the cover photo can be changed or removed. Every draft change comes with a shareable preview link to review the design on any device — no dashboard or early-access needed — including the envelope opening and the postcard that slides out of it. Once you approve, the assistant publishes it to your live invitation, and the dashboard marks it as an AI-made design. If a preview link reached the wrong person, ask the assistant to revoke the preview links.
• Segment guests with tags — create and manage guest tags, tag guests individually or in bulk, and use them everywhere tags work: sub-event access, VIP treatment assignment and registration links
• Manage registration links — create shareable self-registration links with custom codes, auto-applied tags and per-link plus-ones caps, and check each link's view and registration stats
• Set up the registration form itself — turn guest self-registration on or off, rewrite the heading, intro, button label and the thank-you and decline messages, set how many extra guests one registration may bring, choose whether email and phone are required, optional or not asked at all, allow "not attending" answers, and pick the tags every self-registered guest receives
• Plan the seating chart — create tables, see who's seated where (with each person's own status, so someone a party left out of its confirmation shows as not coming), and assign every guest (plus-ones included) to tables and specific seats. Seating works even before any RSVP is set up: the assistant can prepare tables without turning the guest-facing RSVP on. Tables can carry custom chair layouts too: chairs-per-side on rectangular tables (a one-sided head table, for example), chairs along just the front arc of a round table, and reserved chairs held for the DJ, photographer or a highchair
• Auto-seat your guests — ask the assistant to seat everyone still unassigned in one go: parties always stay together, guests sharing a tag are grouped at the same tables, declined guests are never seated and reserved chairs stay free. It shows you the proposed plan first and only applies it when you confirm
• Rebuild your venue's floor plan — paste a photo of the venue map into the chat and the assistant recreates it in the seating chart: tables where they belong plus the stage, dance floor, bar and other fixtures, ready to fine-tune by dragging
• Manage the photo gallery — browse uploads, see stats, approve pending photos when moderation is on, reorder the gallery, organize photos into albums and manage album share links (deleting a photo always requires your confirmation), and request a full-gallery ZIP export emailed to your account address
• Customize the public album — change the colour palette and the description shown under the album title, and decide what guests may do there: download photos, share the album and individual photos, react with emojis and leave comments (album and upload passwords stay in the dashboard)
• Design the upload page — the page guests land on after scanning your QR code: apply any of the ready-made templates, fine-tune colours, fonts, layout and background pattern, write the line under the event title and the thank-you screen wording (including the {{COUNT}} and {{GALLERY_LINK}} placeholders), choose the photo quality guests may upload in, and decide whether the album link is shown after uploading
• Build the upload form — set whether the built-in name and message inputs are hidden, optional or required, and add up to 10 questions of your own (text, long text, dropdown, checkbox or number) to ask guests while they upload
• Run Social Media Mode — turn the private guest feed on or off and get its share link, tune what the feed shows, how long stories last and whether guests can delete their own posts, and publish a pinned announcement to the top of the feed (with an image from a link, if you share one)
• Run the Gaming Center — turn guest games on or off, create photo battles, photo challenges, caption contests and guess-who quizzes, open and close them during the party, publish the winners and pull up the final standings
• Run the live carousel — read and change the venue-screen setup: slide speed, transition, slideshow or collage wall, background artwork, which media types play, the QR and branding overlays, and how guest captions appear (font, size, visible lines, and whether a long caption is trimmed, scrolled or shown in full). It also acts as the remote control: pause, skip, pin a photo, flash an announcement or fire an emoji reaction on every connected screen
• Run multi-part programs — create sub-events (rehearsal dinner, ceremony, brunch...) with their own RSVP rules, capacity and waitlist, control which guests can see each one, and track responses
• Offer VIP perks — set up special treatments (hotel deals, transport credit, discount codes...), assign them to guests and manage redemption code pools

• Customize and schedule emails — edit each email template's subject, headline, intro line, message, theme and auto-reminder, remove a template's cover image, send a test to your own inbox, and schedule sends for later
• Handle branding and your custom domain — brand name, colors, share text, text watermark and social links; connect a custom domain (Professional events) and walk you through the DNS setup
• Set the Match & Connect sponsor branding — read and update the logo, sponsor name and click-through link guests see as the "Presented by" strip in the networking app (it can import the logo straight from a link you share)
• Report on your event — how many photos guests have uploaded, who has answered, who's still pending, and email delivery stats
• Send email invitations — only after showing you exactly who will receive them and getting your explicit confirmation. It can target guests by RSVP status, by tag (e.g. only "Family") or pick individual guests — including resending to a single guest — and it can skip guests who already received that email, so a send that only reached part of your list can be finished without anyone getting a second copy
• Share the right links — your invitation link, each guest's personal RSVP link, and the photo upload page your QR code points to. It can also rewrite your short invitation message and hand you a ready-to-send, personalized message (with a WhatsApp link) for each guest, to send from your own phone
• Prepare a purchase for you — if you allow it, the assistant can quote the price of a paid plan, an event upgrade or a subscription and hand you a secure Stripe checkout link. That includes reopening a free event that has already ended, and the assistant tells you first whether its expired album will be reset. You complete the payment yourself on Stripe's page (or let an agent like Muse do it with your Link wallet); nothing is ever charged from inside the chat, and your credits, upgrade or subscription apply the moment Stripe confirms the payment
• Report problems to us — if a tool fails or there's simply no way to do what you asked, the assistant can file a bug or feature request with the Fotify team on the spot. It will tell you it filed it and give you a report id. Nobody replies inside the chat, so write to support@fotify.app if you're blocked.

Step 1: Add Fotify as a Connector in Your Assistant

The easiest way is from the dashboard: open the user menu in the top-right corner, select AI assistants and use the Quick connect buttons (you'll also find a Connect an AI assistant card on your dashboard home until you've connected one). Click your assistant and Fotify copies the connector URL for you and opens the right settings page — you just paste it. Cursor and VS Code connect with a single click, and there's a copy-paste command for Claude Code.

Prefer to set it up manually? In your AI assistant, look for the connectors or integrations settings (in Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector; in Gemini: Settings & help → Connected Apps → Add a custom app, under "Custom apps for Spark"; in ChatGPT the option lives in its connector settings; in Muse, simply ask it to connect Fotify as an MCP server and give it the URL — the exact menus may vary as these apps evolve).

When asked for the connector or server URL, enter:

Your assistant discovers Fotify automatically and starts the connection flow.

Step 2: Approve Access on Fotify

Your browser opens the Fotify dashboard (sign in if you aren't already — same magic link, Google, Microsoft or passkey as always). You'll see a consent screen listing exactly what the assistant is asking to do:

• View / manage your events and invitations
• View / manage your guest lists
• View / edit invitation designs
• Prepare Stripe checkout links to buy plans, upgrades and subscriptions (only if the assistant asks for it — you still pay on Stripe yourself)

Click Allow access and you're sent back to your assistant, connected. Prefer to limit what it can do? Some assistants let you request fewer permissions — Fotify only ever grants what was approved on that screen.

Step 3: Start Chatting

That's it — just talk to your assistant about your event:

• "Create a birthday event for March 3rd at our garden and turn on RSVP with a Feb 20 deadline."

Built-In Guardrails

The connection is designed so an assistant can be genuinely useful without being able to surprise you:

• Designs are drafts first. Design changes go to a draft with full version history — exactly like the AI Design Studio. Your guests see nothing until a version is applied. You can review any draft through the assistant's shareable preview link (or in the dashboard), and applying it to your live invitation always takes your go-ahead.
• Emails require your confirmation. Before any send — immediate or scheduled — the assistant must show you a preview: how many guests will receive the email, who is skipped and why, and your remaining email credits. Only your explicit go-ahead (valid for 10 minutes) lets it send. It can never email guests on its own. Test emails go exclusively to your own inbox.
• Destructive actions are confirmation-gated. Deleting a guest photo, a sub-event, a VIP treatment or a registration link, or disconnecting a custom domain, is refused by the server until the assistant confirms you explicitly agreed.
• Redemption codes stay secret. The assistant can create discount/voucher code pools and see counts, but the code values themselves are never shared with it — you manage those in the dashboard.
• Your login is never shared. The assistant receives a secure, revocable token through the same authorization standard (OAuth) used by major platforms — it never sees your sign-in credentials, and the token only works for what you approved.
• Payments never happen in chat. The assistant can only prepare a Stripe checkout link — the same page the dashboard opens — and it needs the separate purchases permission to do even that. You (or a shopping agent you trust, with your own wallet) complete the payment on Stripe; the assistant never sees your card and cannot charge you.
• Your quotas still apply. AI image generations and email credits work exactly as they do in the dashboard — a connected assistant can't bypass any limit. Templates are not limited by plan: every template, the bespoke designs included, can be applied on every plan, Free included, whether you pick it in the dashboard or the assistant publishes it.
• Everything is scoped to your account. The assistant can only touch events you own or collaborate on, like the dashboard itself.

Managing and Disconnecting Assistants

Open the user menu in the top-right corner of the dashboard and select AI assistants. You'll see every connected assistant with when it was connected and last used. From there you can:

• Disconnect a single assistant — it's signed out immediately
• Disconnect all — revokes every connection at once

Disconnecting never touches your events or designs; it only removes the assistant's access. You can reconnect any time by repeating the steps above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which AI assistants work with Fotify? A: Any assistant that supports remote MCP connectors — including Claude (claude.ai), ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Meta's Muse. The connector URL is the same for all of them: https://server.fotify.app/mcp. In Gemini, custom connected apps run through its Spark agent and require a personal Google account (work/school accounts aren't supported yet). In Muse, ask it to connect an MCP server and paste the URL; it opens Fotify's sign-in for you to allow access.

Q: Can the assistant send emails or publish designs without asking me? A: No. Email sends require a preview plus your explicit confirmation, and design changes stay in drafts until a version is applied. Both safeguards are enforced by Fotify's servers, not just by the assistant's good manners.

Q: Does connecting an assistant cost anything? A: The connection itself is free. Anything the assistant does uses your normal Fotify plan — the same email credits and AI image generation quota as the dashboard. Q: Can the assistant design my invitation, and how do I see it? A: Yes. It uses the same design engine as the AI Design Studio — templates, palettes, sections and AI-generated artwork — and you don't need AI Design Studio access in your dashboard to use it through the assistant. When it has a design ready, it sends you a shareable preview link that opens the invitation read-only on any device (no login). Once you like it, the assistant publishes it to your live invitation on your say-so; nothing goes live before that.

Q: Can the assistant set up my custom domain? A: Yes, on Professional events (and event-subscription events). It connects the domain and gives you the exact CNAME record to create with your domain provider; verification then completes automatically. Removing a connected domain always requires your explicit confirmation, since links on it stop working.

Q: How does rebuilding my venue's floor plan from a photo work? A: Paste the floor-plan image directly into the chat — Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini can see images natively, so the picture never leaves your conversation. The assistant reads the layout (tables, stage, dance floor, bar...) and recreates it in your seating chart with everything positioned proportionally. You then fine-tune by dragging in the dashboard's venue map.

Q: Can I upload photos through the assistant? A: The assistant can generate AI artwork and import photos from a public link (e.g. a shared album or your website). To upload files from your device, use the Asset Library in the dashboard — everything there is instantly available to the assistant.
