How to Customize Your Upload Page Design

When guests scan your QR code, the first thing they see is your upload page. With Fotify's Upload Page Design feature, you can customize its look to match your event's style — choose from ready-made templates, adjust colors and fonts, pick a page layout and photo shape, and personalize the text guests see throughout the upload experience.

This feature is available on all plans, including the Free plan.

Step 1: Open the Upload Page Designer

Go to your Dashboard and select your event
Click Photos in the sidebar
In the Actions section, click Upload Page Design
You'll be taken to the design editor with a live preview

Step 2: Choose a Template

The template gallery gives you a selection of pre-designed upload page styles organized by category:

All — Browse every available template
Wedding — Elegant and romantic designs
Party — Fun and vibrant styles
Corporate — Clean and professional layouts
Elegant — Sophisticated and refined designs
Minimal — Simple, distraction-free styles
Fun — Playful and colorful options

Click any template to apply it instantly. The live preview on the right updates in real time so you can see how it looks before saving.

Step 3: Customize Colors

After selecting a template, you can fine-tune six color settings:

Color Setting	What It Controls
Background	The main page background color
Surface	Card and content area backgrounds
Text	Primary text and heading colors
Accent	Highlighted elements and decorative accents
Button Background	The upload button fill color
Button Text	The text color on buttons

Click any color swatch to open the color picker, or type in an exact hex code. Changes appear immediately in the preview.

Step 4: Customize Typography

Choose fonts to match your event's personality:

Heading Font — Used for the event title and section headers
Body Font — Used for descriptions, labels, and instructions

Both use Google Fonts, so guests will see the same fonts on any device. Pick from a curated list of options that pair well together.

Step 5: Adjust Layout Options

Fine-tune the structure and style of the page:

Page Layout

Choose the overall structure of the upload page:

Classic card — The centered card layout with the event photo in a framed box (the default)
Hero photo — Your event photo fills the top of the page edge-to-edge, with the event name overlaid on it
Minimal (no card) — Removes the card frame so the content floats directly on the background

The Hero layout needs an event photo to work — if your event doesn't have one, the page automatically falls back to the Classic layout.

Photo Shape

For Classic and Minimal layouts, choose how the event photo is framed:

Rounded — A rounded rectangle (the default)
Arch — An arched window shape, popular for weddings
Circle — A circular frame
Polaroid — A white instant-photo frame with a slight tilt

This setting doesn't apply to the Hero layout, where the photo is shown full-width.

Header Style

Choose how the event title and branding area looks:

Default — Standard header with event name
Hero — Large, bold header area
Minimal — Compact, understated header
Centered — Everything centered for a balanced look

Button Style

Pick the shape of interactive buttons:

Rounded — Slightly rounded corners
Pill — Fully rounded ends
Square — Sharp corners for a modern edge

Upload Area Style

Control how the photo drop zone appears:

Default — Standard dashed border area
Bordered — Solid border with clear boundaries
Gradient — Subtle gradient background
Minimal — Nearly invisible, clean look

Background Pattern

Add subtle texture to the page background:

None — Plain solid color
Dots — Dotted pattern overlay
Grid — Grid line pattern
Diagonal — Diagonal stripe pattern
Waves — Soft scalloped wave pattern
Confetti — Scattered dots in your accent color, great for parties

Patterns automatically adapt to your template's colors, and some templates also feature gradient backgrounds.

Event Photo

Choose how your event photo is displayed at the top of the upload page:

Crop to fill — The photo fills the whole area and is cropped to fit (the default).
Fit whole photo — The entire photo is shown without cropping; any extra space around it uses the page background.
Fit with blurred background — The entire photo is shown over a softly blurred copy of itself, so nothing is cropped and there are no empty edges.

This setting only affects events that have an event photo set.

Step 6: Customize Text & Messages

You can personalize three text fields that guests see during the upload experience:

Custom Page Description

This is the text displayed below the event name on the upload page. By default, guests see "Share your photo with a message!" — but you can replace it with your own text (up to 200 characters).

Use this to:

Explain what the photos are for (e.g., "Upload your best moments from tonight's gala!")
Add context or instructions for guests
Include a URL — any link you type is automatically converted to a clickable link on the page

Custom Success Title

This is the heading guests see after they successfully upload their photos. By default it reads "Thank you for sharing!" — but you can set your own title (up to 100 characters).

Use this to:

Match the tone of your event (e.g., "You're amazing!" or "Photo received!")
Add a personal touch to the confirmation screen

Custom Success Message

This is the longer message shown below the success title on the confirmation screen. You can write up to 500 characters to:

Thank guests for contributing
Share where and when the photos will be displayed
Include a fun or personal note
Remind them to upload more throughout the event

Leave any of these fields empty to use the default text.

Guest Upload Quality

In the Upload Quality section you control which photo quality options guests can pick when uploading:

Guests choose (both options) — Guests see a toggle with Optimized and Full HD (the default behavior). You also pick which one is pre-selected for them.
Optimized only — The toggle is hidden and every photo uploads in Optimized quality.
Full HD only — The toggle is hidden and every photo uploads in Full HD, so you're guaranteed to receive all photos at maximum quality.

Note: Full HD uploads are only available on paid events. On Free plan events, guests always upload in Optimized quality regardless of this setting.

Show Photos on Upload Screen

At the bottom of the Upload Page Design settings, you'll find the "Show Album Link on Upload Screen" toggle.

When enabled, the upload page shows a live preview of recent photos from your public album, plus a link to view them all, so guests can browse event photos right on the upload page. This encourages engagement and helps guests discover photos from other attendees.

You can also control this from the Public album section in the Photo Statistics card (Photos → Photo Statistics), where it's labeled "Show photos on the upload screen" and is on by default once sharing is enabled.

Note: Public album sharing must be enabled for the preview to appear. If you haven't set it up yet, turn on Public album sharing in the Public album section first.

Step 7: Save and Preview

Click Save to apply your design changes
Click Preview to open the actual upload page in a new browser tab and see exactly what guests will experience
Use Reset if you want to revert back to the template defaults

Your design is saved per event — each event can have its own unique upload page style.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which plans include Upload Page Design? A: All plans, including the Free plan. Every event can customize its upload page.

Q: Can I change the design after the event has started? A: Yes! You can update the upload page design at any time, even while guests are actively uploading. Changes take effect immediately.

Q: Do guests need to refresh the page to see design changes? A: New visitors will see the latest design. Guests who already have the page open may need to refresh to see updates.

Q: Can different events have different designs? A: Yes, each event has its own independent upload page design. A wedding and a corporate event can look completely different.

Q: Will the design look good on all phones? A: Yes. The upload page is fully responsive and adapts to any screen size. Templates are designed to look great on both mobile and desktop.

Q: Can I use my own custom fonts? A: The font options come from a curated list of Google Fonts. Custom font uploads are not currently supported.

Q: Can I add links in the page description? A: Yes. Any URLs you type in the Custom Page Description field are automatically converted to clickable links when guests view the upload page.

Q: Can I customize the success title separately from the message? A: Yes. The Custom Success Title and Custom Success Message are independent fields. You can customize one, both, or neither — each falls back to its own default text when left empty.

Q: What's the difference between the page layouts? A: Classic is the original centered card. Hero shows your event photo full-width at the top with the title overlaid. Minimal removes the card frame entirely. Hero needs an event photo — without one, the page uses the Classic layout.

Q: How do I make sure guests upload photos in the best quality? A: In the Upload Quality section, set the available options to Full HD only. The quality toggle disappears for guests and every photo is uploaded at original resolution. This requires a paid event — on the Free plan, uploads are always Optimized.

Q: How do I stop my event photo from being cropped on the upload page? A: In the Layout section, change the Event Photo setting from "Crop to fill" (the default) to "Fit whole photo" — which shows the entire photo with the page background around it — or "Fit with blurred background", which shows the full photo over a blurred copy of itself so there are no empty edges.

Q: Where is the "Show Album Link on Upload Screen" option? A: You'll find it at the bottom of the Upload Page Design settings, and also in the Public album section of the Photo Statistics card (labeled "Show photos on the upload screen"). Either one shows a live preview of recent photos on the upload page. Make sure you've enabled public album sharing first.
